Cultivated Meat and the Future of Sustainable Petfood

The growing global population of companion animals, coupled with increasing scrutiny of the environmental impact of food production, has intensified interest in alternative protein sources for pet nutrition. Among the emerging solutions, cultivated meat has great potential because it combines the biological characteristics of conventional animal-derived proteins with the potential to address some of the supply-chain, sustainability and ethical challenges associated with traditional livestock production.

Europa chce odzyskać pozycję lidera biotechnologii. Biotech Act II dopiero zaczyna nabierać kształtu

Kiedy 16 grudnia 2025 roku Komisja Europejska przedstawiła propozycję pierwszego Europejskiego Aktu Biotechnologicznego, nikt nie miał wątpliwości, że to dopiero pierwszy krok. Biotech Act I, skoncentrowany na biotechnologii zdrowotnej, miał za zadanie wzmocnić konkurencyjność sektora, uprościć procesy regulacyjne i przyspieszyć wprowadzanie innowacji na rynek, przy jednoczesnym zachowaniu wysokich standardów bezpieczeństwa, etyki i zrównoważonego rozwoju. Jednak już w momencie jego ogłoszenia było jasne, że potrzebny będzie drugi etap, szerszy, wykraczający poza zdrowie i obejmujący przemysłową biotechnologię oraz bioprodukcję.
